"Okay, the food here kicks ass! I've been here 3x now, the service is pretty good, not unnecessarily sweet or gushy, which is half refreshing & half rusty. It's a tolerable thing since the food is so damn good! I personally was happy to sit by the kitchen where the workers were blaring metal music, but I don't know if my parents who were visiting from MA really appreciated it! Overall, This is my 2nd favorite place to eat out in the New Castle, PA area. If you want great food, decent service, and pub like atmosphere, you won't go wrong here!"

"We wanted to try this place after hearing about it from a friend. Our wait person was wonderful. She greeted us with a huge smile and enthusiastic hello. We did not have to wait to be seated, just come on in and find a table we liked. It's a bar atmosphere, but if you don't want to sit by the bar there is a small dining room set away from it. The food was better than bar food and reasonably priced, which in this day and age is refreshing. In all we really liked Cedars, and will definitely be back!"

"Cedars is a local joint that gives hefty portions, the staff are friendly and quick. The Syrian bread has a nice crust, and soft pillowy center. I highly recommend the Pittsburgh sandwich, we also were here for wings night, the wings were fantastic.They give a healthy serving of fresh cut fries, with in house made ranch dressing. If you are coming in to New Castle, you must stop in and try a place that locals love, and have enjoyed for over 65 years."

"We love the food but the kitchen is slow and takes hours. We have been there twice in the last two months and had to wait so long it was irritating. I don't blame the waitress but I blame the management and the kitchen. I am sorry that this was just as bad as the last. We will not be back."

"A hidden gem with honestly the best lamb I've had. The kibbee and grape leaves were awesome as well. So happy the "other lamb place" was closed so we stumbled on this place. Will be back again for sure!!"

"Wanted somewhere new to go eat last night and found Cedars on Google. I have a new favorite "dive bar" restaurant now! The service was fast and friendly and the food was absolutely AMAZING! I ordered the Pittsburgh Sandwich (chopped steak) and it was better than Primanti's (I'm craving one now, just thinking about it!) And deep fried green beans, which were super yummy and not soggy, like you usually get at other places...the dipping sauce for the beans (I can't remember what they call it) was delicious! Everything on the menu sounded really good.... I can't wait to go back!"

"This is one of my favorite places EVARRR. It's smack in the middle of a blue collar residential neighborhood and doesn't look like much from the outside except for its classic green awning with a cool retro "The Cedars" logo on it. That's it. Very easy to miss, but very hard to forget. Few places like this can be found with both outstanding food and staff that makes it your home the whole time you're there. I live six hours away and I make it a must to visit here every time I'm in town. The Cedars has been around since 1948 and I can see why. They have a giant menu for a place so small. Staff so greatly proud of where they work. Impeccable ethnic food like chicken and lamb dishes, stuffed grape leaves, and kibbutz with Middle Eastern flair inside of this no-frills small place. I LOVE IT."
